Alles over Ruimbagage
Ga je voor langere tijd op reis? Dan ontkom je vaak niet aan ruimbagage: de grote koffer die in het vrachtruim gaat. De regels hiervoor zijn strenger dan ooit. Vooral voor overgewicht (elke kilo te veel) betaal je tegenwoordig de hoofdprijs.

Ruimbagage is bij prijsvechters (zoals Ryanair of Transavia) bijna nooit meer inbegrepen in de basisprijs. Je moet dit apart bijboeken.
Handbagage vs. Ruimbagage
Het verschil is simpel, maar cruciaal voor je portemonnee:

Handbagage: Gaat mee de cabine in. Is vaak gratis (mits klein) of goedkoop bij te boeken.

Ruimbagage: Geef je af bij de check-in balie. Dit zijn grote koffers (vaak 20kg of 23kg). Hierin mag je wel vloeistoffen >100ml meenemen, maar géén losse batterijen of powerbanks!
Waar moet je op letten?
Het maximale gewicht varieert per maatschappij, maar ligt meestal rond de **23 kg** voor Economy Class.
- EĂ©n koffer van 25kg is vaak duurder dan twee koffers van 12,5kg (wegens Arbo-regels voor tillen).
- Maximaal gewicht per enkel stuk is 32kg (zwaarder mag nooit mee).

Boek Online
Wacht niet tot de luchthaven. Bagage bijboeken aan de balie is vaak **50% duurder** dan vooraf online.
Lichte Koffer
Een oude koffer weegt zo 5-6 kilo. Een moderne lichtgewicht koffer slechts 2-3 kilo. Dat is 3 kilo extra kleding!
Deel je Koffer
Reis je samen? Boek Ă©Ă©n grote koffer van 20kg in plaats van twee kleine. Dat scheelt vaak in de kosten.
Weeg Thuis
Gebruik een kofferweegschaal. 23,5 kg wordt vaak niet geaccepteerd of kost je tientallen euro's extra.
Pak Slim In
Gebruik packing cubes en rol kleding op. Draag je zwaarste jas en schoenen tijdens de vlucht.
Verboden Items
Powerbanks en losse lithiumbatterijen mogen nooit in de ruimbagage. Doe deze in je handbagage!
